The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate held a teleconference in 269 school units across the country today
The Directorate for the Prosecution of Electronic Crime, within the framework of implementing a relevant decision of the Ministry of Public Order and Citizen Protection and the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, held today (18-11-2014), with great success, a teleconference in 269 school units across the territory.
The participating schools accepted an invitation through the "meetings.sch.gr" system, of the Panhellenic School Network, and in this way, they joined the video conference.
During the teleconference, a presentation was made by specialized Officers of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate using audiovisual equipment.
More specifically, the themes developed are:
- The mission of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate.
- The purpose of organizing teleconferences.
- Crimes and the way they are committed online, as well as prevention practices.
- The phenomena of online violence, the dangers posed by social networking sites and, in general, the prevention and treatment of risks associated with new technologies.
- Statistical data concerning the penetration of Greeks into the internet and the cases that the Cybercrime Prosecution Service is called upon to deal with.
During the presentation, a responsible teacher from each school collected questions from the students, which were sent through the system and the direct written communication function “chat”. The questions are answered, during the video conference, by the specialized Officers of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, who are carrying out the presentation.
The information will continue in the near future throughout the country.
