Automation using robots even in areas where this was considered complex or economically unprofitable in the past is offered by Universal Robots (UR) solutions, which are now also available in the Greek market by the company Morenos & Co.
As noted in the relevant announcement, the Danish UR makes automation accessible to all industries and types of companies, with its easily programmable, safe, flexible and affordable robots, which are used by different sizes of businesses, from large automotive manufacturers to small companies with few employees.
Unlike traditional robots, UR robots can be used without a safety net, if the application allows it and after a comprehensive risk assessment, complying with ISO standards for service robots (collaborative robots). This fact contributes to the transition to a new era for industrial robots, which allows robots to be involved in tasks that require human participation in a shared work environment. Thanks to the easy-to-use programming, even someone with no experience in using robots can quickly learn to program simple projects and develop their own applications.
UR robots are the result of years of research in robotics. Since UR created the UR5, which was launched in 2009 with a 5 kg payload, the research has continued. In 2012, the company launched the UR10 with a 10 kg payload. A pioneer in today's global market, UR launched the Third Generation robot last September, an improved version of the UR5 and UR10, which incorporates additional advanced safety and control features.
Today, UR robots are widely used by industries in Europe, America and Asia, where the investment in cost-effective and flexible automation is easily amortized. The Danish company distributes its robots in 40 countries and has sold approximately 4,000 robots worldwide. In Europe, UR robots are already used by Lear, Oticon, Bosch, Renault, Volkswagen, Scandinavian Tobacco Group, LG, Samsung, LUK, GN Resound and many more companies.
