Google has announced that Android 5.0 Lollipop will be available starting November 3, 2014. It is believed that the Lollipop will appear as available on Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. Also, devices that were made available by Google Play as Google Play Edition devices are expected to receive the update, namely the Moto G and HTC One M8, or possibly older devices on Google Play Edition, namely the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One (M7), Sony Z Ultra and LG G Pad 8.3.
HTC is in the evaluation phase for the release of the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop for the HTC One M8 and HTC One M7, internationally, within 90 days of the final release of the operating system, that is, in February 2015. The company is expected to update other models of the HTC One family "later".
As for Samsung, it is expected that the Lollipop update will be available to all models this year and possibly the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, according to information from CNET.
Finally, Motorola has announced that the Moto X (1st and 2nd generation) and Moto G (also 1st and 2nd generation), Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini will receive the update.
Sony also announced that the entire premium Xperia Z series will receive the update to Android 5.0, specifically mentioning the following models: Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. The update will start with the Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition. The update is expected in early 2015 for the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series.
LG has confirmed that the LG G3 will receive the Lollipop update, but has not said when it will begin rolling out.
Those who have smartphones with Android 4.4 are more likely to receive the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
