The technology park of EKFE «Dimokritos» becomes a test field for unmanned vehicles.
Future Intelligence Ltd. develops innovative applications for the control and collection of information from mobile unmanned platforms for search and rescue missions.
The vehicle operator was hundreds of meters away and their mission was to search and rescue human lives. This was, as announced by "Demokritos", a test exercise of the telecommunications systems developed in the Future Intelligence laboratories, which are hosted in the facilities of the research center's technology park.
The application comes from the implementation of an idea for the innovative use of wireless communication and networking technologies in ground and aerial unmanned vehicles, which was initially presented in a forest fire incident management scenario in Alykes, Anavyssos, Attica, within the framework of the European research project DARIUS.
Future Intelligence was founded in 2009 with the main activity of providing innovative services and advanced technology products, concerning integrated telecommunications and information systems. It specializes in wireless networking and short and long range telecommunications.
Among other things, it has developed an innovative sensor management platform with the ability to collect, wirelessly send and intelligently manage data in industrial and urban environments. A prototype system of the platform is already operating in part of the lighting system of the "Demokritos" providing energy savings resulting from the "smart" management of the system.
The new test of the unmanned systems on the " Demokritos " was carried out on the ROBOVOLC vehicle , in collaboration with one of the largest multinational defense systems companies, the English BAE SYSTEMS , which has manufactured the platform in question. The application contributes to the effort to identify dangerous situations and save human lives by civil protection organizations.
In addition to its operations in Greece, Future Intelligence has expanded into Western Europe, now maintaining offices in London. This activity is based on its participation in European research projects, the creation of strategic partnerships and the servicing of an ever-growing clientele regarding its new products in the telecommunications sector.
