Pay your friends via Facebook Messenger (?)

Facebook - Peer (P2P) code discovered in the Messenger app by Stanford student Andrew Aude.

“We will not comment on rumors or speculation,” a spokesperson told The Registerwhen asked yesterday morning.

Aude tweeted a screengrab on Sunday afternoon that appears to show – as he put it – that P2P payments are coming soon to Facebook Messenger.

The student discovered the code in the iOS version of Facebook, which was first introduced by Mark Zuckerberg in 2011.

P2P payments could allow Facebookers to send money to each other, much the same way they can share photos through the service today. It's not scary... no.
