Windows Phone supporters are anxiously awaiting the latest Windows Phone 1 (GDR1) update for their smartphones and may want to know that Microsoft is likely to release a newer version soon.
Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview users who have already upgraded their devices to Update 1 and are likely familiar with the official firmware numbers that brought the latest version of the operating system to their smartphones: 8.10.14141.167 or 8.10.14147.180.
However, it appears that there is a newer version of Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, 8.10.14152.0. The new version of the platform has recently been spotted in the WPBench database and was added a few days ago.
Due to the small change in the build number, this is likely not a major update that would qualify as a GDR2. However, there may be some important improvements and bug fixes included in this version of Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1.
Unfortunately, it is unclear when and if Microsoft will make firmware version 8.10.14152.0 available for download to everyone.
