New phishing scam targets Netflix users

Scam-Alert-Phishing-Scheme-Alerts-Netflix-Users-Their-Accounts-Were-Canceled

Security researchers have identified a new phishing targeting users of the popular video streaming service, Netflix.

The scam is based on sending misleading emails, which inform unsuspecting users that their accounts have been deactivated due to some problem that has occurred with the payment of their subscription.

In order to regain their accounts, users are asked to update their information by following an attached link.

The link redirects users to a malicious website – which mimics the legitimate Netflix – and victims are asked to fill in their account login details, payment card details and other personal information.

Of course, this is all part of a well-crafted scam, so if you come across a similar email, simply delete it. If you have already fallen victim to this scam, immediately change your passwords and regularly check your account for any unusual activity.
