Secnews-UniPi Challenges – Attacks in real conditions!

challenges
Secnews, in EXCLUSIVE collaboration with the Systems Security Laboratory of the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus, is launching a new series of simulations of electronic attacks and evaluation of the security of information and communication systems. The purpose of the project is to inform Internet users on issues of modern security threats/attacks, as well as to practice their application of protection measures.

It is the first time that a research team from a Hellenic University (the University of Piraeus) in collaboration with a specialized electronic media outlet (SecNews) officially promotes joint actions to simulate electronic attacks.

To achieve the above, a series of security exercises (challenges) will be created and made available to the public for solution/study, representing real systems in virtual environments.

The scientific responsibility for the exercises will be held by the Assistant Professor of the University of Piraeus, Mr. Christos Xenakis , and the technical supervision will be held by the PhD Candidate of the Department of Digital Systems, Mr. Anastasios Stasinopoulos. In addition to these, exercises will also be created by other members of the Laboratory as well as postgraduate students of the Department , while you are also given the opportunity to create your own exercises!

Secnews, a pioneer in information security reporting, supports the initiative by providing technical support for the entire project with the allocation of resources and encourages its readers to test their skills in the simulations that will be announced in the coming days.

Stay tuned to be the first to know the details.
