If you are in the United Arab Emirates, then you should be careful about what you post on social media, especially Facebook. Regulators in that country are warning people that posting content about other people on Facebook without their consent could be against the law.
According to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), Facebook has published a new set of guidelines to help social media users stay within the boundaries of the law, as well as the social network's privacy policies.
The new rules state that users should not tag other people without their consent and should take care not to post photos and videos of users who have not explicitly agreed to do so.
According to the report, 69% of Facebook in the United Arab Emirates are men, while the remaining 31% are women.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has stated that the new guidelines are actually based on Facebook's rules, namely its Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, Data Usage Policy, and guidelines.
