ESET® has announced the new version of its ESET Mobile Security solution. The new ESET Mobile Security offers Android users the proactive Anti-Theft feature to detect lost or stolen devices, which the user can manage online, through the easy-to-use interface of the my.eset.com platform.
Basic protection features are offered free forever, however, "Premium" features are also available, which the user can benefit from if they choose to register.
Anti-Theft is proactive by detecting potentially threatening situations and taking proactive measures to help locate a stolen or lost device. For Premium users, the new feature sends the device’s last location when the battery reaches a critical level, and takes photos from the front/rear cameras when an incorrect PIN/pattern is entered or an unauthorized SIM card change is detected. All device data is accessible via the my.eset.com platform.

ESET Mobile Security, with a range of powerful security features that enhance the Android user experience without worrying about cyber threats, is available in two versions: free and premium. The free version of the application offers basic protection, including a full device scan, a scan of downloaded app data, and basic Anti-Theft features. The Premium version features, unlocked after activating the 30-day trial or by purchasing the relevant license, include: Scheduled Scan, Scan on Charging, advanced Anti-Theft Proactive Features, such as integration with the my.eset.com platform, SMS and Call Filter, and Security Check.
Features of the New Proactive Anti-Theft and the my.eset.com platform:
• Integration with the my.eset.com platform interface for Android devices and Windows notebooks protected by ESET Smart Security.
• SIM Mapping – Receive remote commands even if an unauthorized SIM card is inserted.
• Location Tracking – Online management of Anti-Theft. Mark a device as lost on my.eset.com. The device’s location is displayed on a map in real time, so the user can quickly track down its tracks.
• Suspicious Condition Detection – Autonomous preventive action after entering an incorrect PIN/pattern or detecting an unauthorized SIM change.
• Photos – If the device is marked as lost, automatically take photos from the front/rear cameras and send them to my.eset.com to facilitate location identification.
• On-Screen Message – Custom message to anyone who might find the device.
• Low Battery – If the battery is critically low, send its current location to my.eset.com.
• User IP Address Details – List of IP addresses the device has connected to since it was declared lost.
