We have seen many times posts that promise various things on Facebook, but most of the time it turns out to be a scam. However, Fb users still believe in such posts and blindly follow the instructions. Thus, cybercriminals invent new topics to trick users.
Over the past few days, posts have been shared on Facebook stating that users' accounts will be disabled and to avoid this, users should follow certain instructions: “to all facebook users Your Facebook Accounts will Permanent Disable. you must register your account to avoid permanent disabled. How to register? Go to our pinned post. and follow instructions carefully!”
However, this is a scam, where you will be asked to copy and paste some code into your browser console. By blindly following the instructions, users allow the scammers to perform various actions ('like', 'sharing', 'tagging friends' and many more) on their behalf.
Earlier this year, we learned that scammers had tricked users with the promise that following their instructions would help them hack their friends' accounts.
