Following reports from news outlets, cloud file syncing and sharing service Dropbox has taken steps to fix a security vulnerability.
Dropbox competitor Intralinks discovered the security vulnerability while auditing Google Analytics web traffic data and Google Adwords reports.
Intralinks found that web traffic data included links leading to confidential files such as tax returns, bank records, mortgage applications, blueprints, and business plans.
The vulnerability is linked to a website designed to allow sites to better understand traffic sources and is part of standard practices implemented across all browsers.
