Citing sources within the American company, technology site The Verge claims that the Start Menu will return to Windows in August, with a new upgrade that Microsoft will launch at that time.
The Start Menu first appeared in Windows 95, and since then it accompanied every new version until Windows 8, in which Microsoft chose to retire it. However, this decision displeased many users, as it made it even more difficult for them to get used to the new operating system.
Already at the BUILD developer conference, a month ago, Microsoft had confirmed that it would bring the feature back to Windows 8, even presenting the form it would take – as the new Start Menu would also include "live tiles" from the modern user interface.
Although the American company did not reveal at the conference when this feature would return to computer and tablet screens, The Verge reports that this will happen in August, with an update that will be released then.
In fact, through the same upgrade, for the first time, applications for the modern user interface (Modern UI) will be able to be viewed on the desktop, each "running" in its own window.
