Google is now clearly admitting what even the... stones knew, that it "scans" the emails of users who use the Gmail service.
More specifically, in the new terms of use of the service – the text is quite long – users are warned that: “automatic systems analyze your content” for the sake of advertising, customization, and security.
Many Gmail users know that the service "scans" their emails for ad keywords, but several were so unhappy with this that they filed lawsuits on privacy grounds.
Just recently, Google made the move to update the terms of use of the service with the obvious, and so in the future it is not expected to have such legal problems.
