Russian libraries have taken the initiative to create an electronic encyclopedia, which will be an alternative to the popular international encyclopedia "Wikipedia".
This issue is reported by the Itar Tass news agency, citing statements by Anton Likhomanov, general director of the National Library in St. Petersburg, during the meeting of the Academic Council at the Presidential Library.
According to the publication, the electronic version of "Wikipedia" suffers from many inaccuracies on common topics and there is bias in certain events of geopolitical interest.
The "Russian Wikipedia" will be written on the basis of the current Russian electronic portal of the "Regional Encyclopedia", which presents information based on the information sources of the printed encyclopedia.
