Initially, registrations for Google I/O 2014 were supposed to have opened a few weeks ago, but the date was moved to April 15. So from April 15 to 18, Google will be accepting registrations for this year's event, called Google I/O 2014 for those who have never heard of it.
Registrations on Google's dedicated website will open in a few hours, but manufacturers are already receiving invitations, according to a series of posts that appeared on Google+.
In previous years, the entire registration process has been a complete mess, even including the occasional server crash. With all that in mind, Google decided to handle things a little differently this year.
Instead of enforcing a “first come first served” policy, it allowed those who wanted to watch to register for a few days, and then Google would randomly select the lucky winners.
The event will take place on June 25 and 26 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The ticket price will be 900 US dollars, not a small amount but certainly less than the $2,095.00 that Microsoft wanted for the Build 2014 conference. Of course, there are also big discounts for students and schools in the fee for Google I/O 2014.
The conference will be broadcast live, so that audiences around the world can at least see what the company will present. Google usually makes pretty big announcements about its upcoming products at its I/O conferences.
