The fake fax report sent via emailis a new attempt by cybercriminals to trick users into downloading a piece of malware onto their computers.
According to Hoax Slayer, the emails are titled: “Incoming Fax Report” and ask the recipient to click on a link titled: “view the file online.”
The link leads to a malicious website that is already created to serve malware. If you encounter such emails, act with caution. If it looks suspicious, simply delete it.
If you have already clicked on the link, scan your computer with an up-to-date antivirus.
The emails sent look like this:
