Last year, Anonymous hackers targeted the Singapore government over its controversial internet licensing framework. To protect its networks from such attacks, authorities in Singapore are working with security firm FireEye.
According to Channel New Asia, the announcement was made on Wednesday during the inauguration of the FireEye Center in Singapore.
Last year, the company has partnered with the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) on a plan to open a new cybersecurity center.
Over the next two years, FireEye will hire over 100 cybersecurity experts for the center, which will be responsible for providing intelligence, detecting and responding to attack threats.
FireEye, in collaboration with intelligence companies and universities, will develop the necessary solutions to address the threats.
It is worth noting that in the recent Anonymous campaign, IDA was one of the main targets, but the hacktivists were unable to breach the organization's systems.
