How-to-Track-Down-Your-Stolen-Camera

Possibly one of the biggest problems for today's photographers is losing their equipment or, even worse, having it stolen. Of course, they can always insure all your devices and focus more on the work with less stress.

What would you do and how could you locate camera if it was stolen? One of the answers to this question may be an Internet service called Stolen Camera Finder. This service allows you to locate your device using the EXIF data embedded in your photos.

Many digital cameras include a unique serial number in each photo's EXIF file, which can help identify your camera. If your digital camera is stolen, SCF can help you find it using the serial number listed on one of the photos taken with the camera.

The service will search the internet for photos that contain the same serial number and will report the location where they were taken if a match is found. This will work only if the user who has your photograph uploaded the pictures they have taken with it on the internet.
