Google has released an Android mobile app, offering Device Management Service. It is available for free on the Google Play store and allows users to manage and secure an Android tablet or phone linked to their Google account from another Android device (Gingerbread and above).
The app gives you access to all the features of Android Device Manager, including locating a tablet or showing the phone on a map, resetting the lock code, and erasing it. Just note that the lost device will need to be connected to a cellular or Wi-Fi network to execute the commands.
