Samsung is planning a Galaxy Unpacked event for July, at which it intends to showcase new foldable smartphones as well as its first AI “Galaxy Glasses,” according to Seoul Economic Daily.
Samsung's event will take place on July 22, where it will unveil its new foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8, just weeks before Apple's first foldable iPhone . The company is also said to be beating Apple to the punch with AI glasses.

Apple is accelerating the development of its own smart glasses to compete with Meta Ray-Bans, but according to rumors, we won't see them on the market before 2027. There is a possibility that Apple will introduce the glasses in 2026, but there is no certainty yet.
Samsung AI Galaxy Glasses
Samsung is partnering with optical company Gentle Monster for its AI glasses, which are said to run on Google's Android XR operating system with Gemini integration . The glasses will feature a high-resolution camera, speakers, and microphone , similar to the Meta Ray-Bans, and will not have a built-in display .
AI integration will be the main selling point, with Gemini being able to use user-recorded video to answer questions.
Samsung will connect the glasses to Galaxy smartphones and its SmartThings ecosystem of home devices .

Apple vs Samsung
The AI Galaxy Glasses look similar to what Apple's rumored AI glasses will be. Apple's glasses will be powered by Siri and will include cameras to provide visual input to the AI. They will include speakers and microphones, but no display is expected for the first version.
Samsung is also planning a Fold Wide, or a foldable smartphone that is similar to the dimensions Apple plans to use for its foldable iPhone.
