The site "Ratemash.com" has caused a stir and outcry, as it "stole" photos of 150,000 female and male students in order for its users to vote on how "hot" they are.
A Durham University student whose photo was unknowingly featured on the site said:
"I had no idea there was a picture of me on the site. The administrators never got my consent for it to be like this"
.
For his part, the administrator of Ratemash.com, 19-year-old Michael Healy, said that the girls had accepted a relevant "invitation" on their Facebook account and that is why their images were being uploaded to Ratemash.com. As he explained, they can delete the application at any time and their photos will be downloaded "immediately" from the website.
