AVAST Software has released updated versions for all its security products, thus trying to improve their operation on Microsoft's Windows 8.1.
The version number 9.0.2008 comes to fix issues with Metro apps after the Windows 8.1 update, as well as occasional problems with sound playback on VPS. Finally, the update fixes malfunctions in the Outbound Firewall that shows a warning about an "unsigned program driver.".
This new version includes updates for Avast! Internet Security, Avast! Antivirus Pro, and Avast! Free Antivirus, so you can install any of them if you have already upgraded to Windows 8.1.
Of course, all AVAST security products work equally well on previous versions of Windows, including XP, Vista, 7, and 8. Both 32- and 64-bit versions are fully compatible.
