CEO Carl Pei says Nothing won't release a flagship phone this year. However, the company did introduce the Nothing Phone 4A Pro, a $499 phone that looks and feels like a better value than last year's flagship Phone 3 (mostly due to its new metal design).
Compared to its direct competitors, the Pixel 10A and iPhone 17E, the Phone 4A Pro stands out with a bigger, brighter, and faster display , more cameras , and Nothing's unique design , including the Glyph Matrix rear display . However, a closer look reveals some limitations.

While Nothing scores points for style, Apple’s and Google’s phones surpass the 4A Pro in terms of substance.
Key features of the Nothing Phone 4A Pro
– Thin, metal body
– Unique design

Disadvantages:

Every Nothing phone so far has maintained a consistent aesthetic: transparent plastic that reveals a (usually white or black) design. It resembles the phone's internal construction without showing much of it, complemented by visible screws and abstract lights.

The 4A Pro deviates from this trend. It's basically metal with a unibody aluminum design available in silver, black, or a very subtle pink. Except for the camera area, which retains a curved transparent cube that houses the plastic details, metal screws, and Glyph lights, reminding users that it's still a Nothing phone.
The switch to metal has two notable effects. First, it makes the 4A Pro somewhat less “exciting.” That might explain why this phone is being released in the US while the completely transparent 4A isn’t. Second, it gives the 4A Pro a premium feel.

This is partly because it's the thinnest Nothing phone yet at 8mm thick, but mainly because metal is often considered more premium than plastic.
The Glyph Matrix display is a significant feature that distinguishes this phone as a Nothing product. It features a larger and brighter dot matrix display.
