In addition to Secure Boot and the blank black screen that some users are experiencing after upgrading to Windows 8.1, it appears that the operating system update is also causing a number of glitches for those trying to access Facebook and chat tools.
Posts on Microsoft's community forums indicate that the issue does not appear to be related to Internet Explorer 11, as users are also experiencing similar problems in Firefox, Chrome.
The only solution available at the moment is compatibility, so right-click on the main executable file of the browser you are using and then go to display properties. Go to the “Compatibility” option and select “Windows 8”.
Microsoft has not yet released a fix for this problem, but it is expected to be released with the next major update to Windows 8.1, which is likely to be released in the coming weeks.
