The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as we have become accustomed to in previous cases of website breaches, issued a detailed announcement regarding the Anonymous posting on a foreign website, which was made public in the last few hours and which we also retransmitted.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs treats incidents of violations (significant or not) with exceptional seriousness, while it is one of the few public services that publishes press releases informing citizens about the details of cyber attacks. We hope that other public services will follow the example of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, treating such incidents with the same seriousness.
Read the detailed announcement:
“Today, Monday, October 14, an online post announced the successful breach by the activist group “Anonymous” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate’s email. An investigation is underway into the exact circumstances and extent of the breach, and it is determined that it concerns material that is typically exchanged via email, including many Press Office releases.”
