Japan is taking steps to effectively protect government information systems and other critical infrastructure from cyberattacks, but a government expert group says the country needs an additional 80,000 security specialists to meet its goals .
The experts also found that 160,000 of the 256,000 people tasked with protecting information systems need further training.
In this context, special programs for the promotion and training of hackers have been launched in Japan.
In August, 41 students from high schools and universities across the country took part in a five-day security camp organized by the Information and Technology Promotion Agency (IPA) and offering participants high-level training.
In addition, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has announced its plans to establish a special working group, with the aim of recruiting dozens of security experts - on an annual basis - for employment in organizations affected by attacks.
