Tesla 's Supercharger network — the most reliable fast -charging network for electric vehicles — just got a little easier to use. Google Maps now displays live availability data for Tesla Superchargers, showing how many spaces are available at each location.

The new integration means users can now see the status of chargers in real time, directly within Google Maps. Until now, Tesla owners could only view this data within their vehicles or in the Tesla app.

When searching for a charger, Maps now displays the total number of charging locations and the number of currently available ones. It’s the same information Tesla provides through its own navigation system, but now it’s visible to anyone using Google Maps — whether they own a Tesla or not.
This may seem like a small change, but it's another sign that Tesla is gradually opening up parts of its once-exclusive charging ecosystem .

Improvements to Tesla's Supercharger network
The company has already begun integrating non-Tesla electric vehicles into its Supercharger network across North America – first through the short-lived Magic Dock and then through NACS.
While this update isn't particularly useful for Tesla owners, who already have this data in their in-vehicle navigation or app, the availability of data in Google Maps makes perfect sense for electric vehicle owners non-Tesla

Tesla has always been a leader in charging station reliability – which is why opening up the network to non-Tesla electric vehicle in North America is so important. But reliability isn’t enough. Getting to a charging station and not having it available is a real bummer. Now, if electric vehicle owners plan their trips using Google Maps, they’ll know how to get around.
