Using dual SIM is a practical way to manage two phone numbers on one device. In the past, this required the physical presence of two SIM cards, which required special holders on the phone, which few devices had. However, with the introduction of eSIM, the technology has evolved. eSIM is a digital SIM that eliminates the need for physical cards, bringing with it the convenience of Dual eSIM functionality, offering even greater flexibility and convenience.
Many modern smartphones now support this feature. Apple introduced Dual eSIM with the iPhone 13, while Samsung added it to Galaxy smartphones with the Galaxy S24 (previously you could only use an eSIM in combination with a physical SIM). This technology is becoming increasingly widespread, offering significant convenience: you no longer need to carry two physical devices or two SIM cards – one for work and one for your personal contacts.
Some users have reported difficulties with this seemingly convenient Verizon option, and unfortunately, it seems that the provider is not particularly willing to offer any meaningful help.

Reddit user s0uthernlights describes his “nightmare” experience using Dual eSIM on his new (unlocked) iPhone 15 Pro, on Verizon’s network. While dual SIM worked flawlessly on the iPhone 12 Pro, combining a physical SIM and an eSIM, the situation changed dramatically after upgrading to the new device.

Technically, they should be able to switch between calls, putting the first one on hold. This feature is especially important for businesses, where constant accessibility is crucial. Without it, there is a risk of losing customers, orders, or critical communications.
Apple reportedly informed users that the Dual eSIM issue was due to Verizon, while Verizon support initially blamed the calling and then claimed that the issue stemmed from the dual SIM setup with two different carriers.
