From Quantic Dream's upcoming narrative adventure to Respawn and EA's continuation of the successful Star Wars Jedi series, the new games span many different genres and explore various time periods in the universe.

Recently, the release of the highly anticipated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game, has managed to grab attention. While Outlaws received mixed reviews, announcements of future sci-fi experiences continue to excite audiences.

However, there was also some disappointing news. In February, it was confirmed that one of the planned Star Wars titles – an FPS from Respawn – had been canceled due to the mass layoffs that occurred this year.

Respawn surprised us all with the announcement of a Star Wars strategy game. Revealed alongside a first-person shooter (which has since been canceled), the untitled Star Wars strategy game is currently in development through a “production partnership” with recently established studio Bit Reactor. Respawn will be producing the project, while Bit Reactor will lead its development.

The new studio is being led by veteran developer Greg Foertsch, who previously worked at Firaxis on Sid Meisner's Civilization series (aka some of the best strategy games ever made) – among other things. Very little has been revealed about the project so far, so a release date is likely a long way off.
