Last year, Heineken wowed the audience with the Gaming Fridge, a unique combination of a computer and a refrigerator. This year, it's raising the bar, bringing the power of Heineken 0.0 – its non-alcoholic beer – into the hands of gamers with the Cool Down Controller.

This innovative controller made its premiere at CCXP24, Brazil's Comic-Con, giving fans the chance to see it in action.

The Cool Down Controller is the product of a creative collaboration between LePub Sao Paulo and Milan and Heineken 0.0. Equipped with advanced sensors, the controller monitors button presses and movement intensity in real time, detecting when players are under pressure. At these moments, the controller's lights change from green to red , automatically activating a special delivery service that sends Heineken 0.0 to all players on the team.
As Felipe Cury, Chief Creative Officer of LePub Sao Paulo, stated, the goal was to create a fun and social solution that reduces stress during the game, enhancing team collaboration and enjoyment.
The technology was developed in collaboration with LeGarage, LePub's innovation center, which designed the advanced sensor system that allows for immediate response, signaling when players need a "cooldown".

While details on how the local delivery system will work remain unclear, Heineken has announced that the Cool Down Controller will be featured in various promotions over the coming months. While it doesn't seem likely to be commercially available, for those looking for new gaming gear, alternatives such as the DualSense PS5 controllers and Xbox Elite Series 2 controllers are available.
