Chinese state bodies dealing with internet companies, semiconductor companies and automakers are warning against using chips from US suppliers, in retaliation for Washington's latest sanctions . A third round of sanctions on China's semiconductor industry went into effect yesterday , restricting exports to 140 companies, including chip equipment maker Naura Technology Group.

The three government bodies that issued the warning are: Internet Society of China, Chinese Association of Automobile Manufacturers and China Semiconductor Industry Association.

The US government blacklisted more Chinese semiconductor companies on Tuesday, marking one of the latest attempts by the Biden administration to block China's ability to access and produce chips to advance artificial intelligence for military applications or attacks against the US.
According to the Internet Society of China statement, the new US measures have "substantially damaged the healthy and stable development of China's internet industry" and shaken confidence in US chip products.

", US chip products are no longer safe or reliable and relevant Chinese industries should be cautious about sourcing chips from the US," the China Semiconductor Industry Association said in a statement.
State bodies say Chinese internet companies should "expand cooperation" with semiconductor suppliers in other countries and regions, while also using chips made in China.

In recent years, China has been trying to become self-sufficient in semiconductorsas the United States and other countries have restricted exports of advanced chips and the tools needed to make them, but it still hasn't caught up to the level of American companies like Nvidia.
