Verizon is experiencing a massive outage affecting its mobile services across the country. Many people across the US are experiencing outages with Verizon. Some users are reporting that phones are in SOS mode.

"During the incident, we received reports from Birmingham, Foley, Montgomery, Benton, Brookland, Des Arc, Fayetteville, Hot Springs Village, Washington, Dover, Apopka, Brandon, Cape Coral, Clermont, Crestview, Fort Pierce, Hollywood, Miami, Naples, Ocala and 652 other cities," according to a website tracking the outage.
There are also over 100,000 user reports of issues on Downdetector. Downdetector 's outage map shows hotspots in several places, including New York and Atlanta. Based on this map, it appears that the outages are most prevalent on the East Coast.

“We are aware that an issue is impacting service for some customers,” Verizon spokesperson Ilya Hemlinin a statement to The Verge. “Our engineers are committed and working quickly to identify and resolve the issue.”
The company posted the same statement on its X support account . It is also responding to people who have complained. Many users are reporting that their phones are in SOS mode.
