Google is revamping the video editor in the Photos app for Android and iOS, adding new editing tools and artificial intelligence (AI) that make it easier for users to trim and tweak their clips.
Features coming to Android include a new “Speed” tool for creating slow-motion or faster-playing videos, an “Auto enhance” button that improves color and stability, and a revamped crop tool for more precise cuts.

Additionally, the tools below the video timeline are rearranged to make it easier for users to find frequently used features, such as mute, enhance, stabilize, and extract frames.
New AI-powered video presets, available on Android and iOS, enable quick one-tap adjustments like auto-crop, speed adjustment, and lighting adjustment. These presets can also add effects like slow motion, zoom, and dynamic motion tracking to a specific subject within the video. The new AI-powered features are located in a separate “presets” tab below the timeline, separate from traditional tools .

Google says these updates are “starting to roll out” today, so it may take a while for them to appear on all devices.
