Vertical Aerospace, a UK-based aerospace company, announced that it has completed the first phase of testing of its air taxi, VX4 (prototype).
Vertical Aerospace has already received 1,500 pre-orders, worth $6 billion, for the VX4. The pre-orders have come from companies including Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines and Japan Airlines.
The first phase of testing included multiple tethered flights and ground runs, completing a total of 70 separate test points, required to validate safety in real flights.

The British company is preparing for the second phase of testing of the VX4 air taxi, which will include tests for vertical takeoff and landing and maneuvering in low-speed flights, with lift created by the propellers.
Vertical's VX4 air taxi is a piloted, electric vertical takeoff and landing ( eVTOL ) aircraft , with seating for four passengers.
