The price of some Canva is set to increase significantly next year due to the launch of generative AI features on the platform. The introduction of AI tools is just one example of how technology is rapidly transforming the design industry. With the help of artificial intelligence, professionals are able to streamline their workflow and create more professional-looking designs.

However, users of Canva Teams , a business subscription that supports adding multiple users, can expect a price increase of more than 300% in some cases . Canva says the increase is justified due to the “expanded product experience” and the value that AI tools have added to the platform.

In the US, some Canva Teams users are reporting subscription from $120 per year for up to five users, to $500. For the first 12 months, there will be a 40% discount, but the subscription will still be $300. Users in Australia will also see an increase.
Some of those accounts had been left at lower prices that Canva no longer offers. In April, the company changed its offer for new subscribers to $10 per month per user. It also required a minimum of three users for the account. Now, Canva’s head of communications, Louisa Green, says existing users will pay the same subscription fees.
“Our product suite has grown significantly over the past two years with the launch of new offerings like Visual Suite and Magic Studio,” Green told The Verge.

Canva has released a plethora of AI features in recent years and has expanded the platform's capabilities.
It's worth noting that Canva has announced similar price changes in the past, but these latest increases were communicated exclusively via email to customers.

The high prices may come as a shock, as Canva was once considered a simple and affordable optioncompared to the more expensive software provided by Adobe. Many have expressed concerns that the price hike will make Canva unaffordable for small businesses on a tight budget.

Users should carefully evaluate their needs and budget to determine whether these improvements and AI features that Canva has brought are worth the increased cost. Several Canva users online have already condemned the increases, with some announcing that they will be canceling their subscriptions.
