Thus, the Minister of Coordination for Politics, Law and Security, Hadi Tjahjanto, announced that the government will strengthen digital security and the national data center system.
The financial sector in Indonesia is strengthening its cybersecurity, with the Financial Services Authority issuing new guidelines. At the same time, the Association of Internet Service Providers (APJII) plans to establish a cybersecurity working group.
APJII, with 1,087 members from Internet service providers in Indonesia, has begun to develop cybersecurity support. Ridi Ferdiana from Gadjah Mada University stressed that the recent ransomware attack makes it necessary to upgrade systems, security procedures and networks. He suggested measures such as regular inspections for security gaps, enhanced network security procedures and frequent maintenance.
“There are many cybersecurity measures that can be taken to prevent the national data center server from being exposed to cyberattacks again, including developing routine inspection procedures related to security gaps, implementing network security procedures for the public and the data center, and regular maintenance to review the security perimeter and the suitability of procedures,” Ferdiana said.
