Microsoft is putting more and more emphasis on mobile games , as it appears to be planning to launch an Xbox mobile game store in July.

We already knew about the company's plans for a mobile, but for the first time we're learning that it's planned for July of this year.
In a recent interview at the Bloomberg Technology Summit, Xbox president Sarah Bondmade the announcement, saying that the company wants to bring “its own first-party portfolio” to the new store, including “games like Candy Crush” and “games like Minecraft.” Of course, there will be other titles from partners as well.

The Xbox mobile game store will likely be part of the broader Xbox ecosystem, as Bond described it as a “cross-platform gaming centric mobile experience.” From this, we understand that there will be some form of integration with existing libraries game . Additionally, compatibility with popular features like Microsoft Rewards and Xbox achievements is expected.
Initially, the store will be available as a web application. “We’re going to start with the web,” Bond explained. “We’re doing it because that really allows us to have an experience that’s accessible across devices, across countries, and (an experience) independent of the policies of closed ecosystem stores.”
At this point, it's quite similar to the Xbox Cloud Gaming, which is accessible via mobile web browsers. While the intention is to compete with the Android Google Play Store and iOS App Store, it's unclear how much this approach will help the Xbox mobile game store.

Microsoft expects the Xbox Mobile Game Store to be a significant step towards expanding its presence in the mobile gaming space. With platform , the company hopes to attract a larger number of users, especially those who are already invested in the Xbox ecosystem.
