Welcome to the new season of Overwatch 2, filled with new skins, modes, and surprises, including Moira's new Mythic skin.
The trailer for Overwatch 2's ninth season has just been released. Since Blizzard already revealed the major changes to the competitive landscape at BlizzCon, there aren't many surprises here. However, we do get a first look at some new skins (including this season's Mythic) and a fresh limited-time game mode.

Moira is the recipient of the Season 9 Mythic skin. It's called Ancient Caller Moira. Like some of the other Battle Pass skins featured in the trailer, it's an Eldritch Horror-themed look. I really like it. I can't wait to add it to my collection.
Additionally, you'll be able to check out the latest cooperative game mode, Cosmic Crisis. It looks like an alien has landed on the Antarctic Peninsula. This looks like something our heroes will have to deal with.

Elsewhere, there was an update on some of the big changes coming to competitive modes, including an easier way to track your progress as you rank up (or down). Additionally, there are Jade weapon cosmetics to unlock and a new higher rank above Grandmaster called Champion. Blizzard will also be conducting a full ranking reset for everyone. Additionally, every hero will have a self-healing ability, and a cooperative way to learn Hero Transformation is on the way this season.
Additionally, with the launch of Overwatch 2’s ninth season, we’re set to see other significant gameplay changes. While some of the information is provided in the trailer, we’re expecting more details on the development of the exciting new features this new season will bring. Gamers can’t wait to see how these changes will impact their gameplay and experience in Overwatch 2.

Last but not least, as hinted at at the end of the trailer, a Cowboy Bebop collaboration is in the works.Season nine of Overwatch 2: Champions kicks off on February 13th. There are plenty of other changes coming next season, so stay tuned for details.
