Nvidia has unveiled three new chips, claiming that its technology leads the way in AI PCs.

Nvidia has announced three new desktop GPU chips with additional features that allow gamers, designers and other users to better leverage artificial intelligence on their personal devices without relying on remote services over the internet. The company says the new chips, which are upgraded versions of existing products, will be offered at “great new prices.”
Nvidia rivals Intel and Advanced Micro Devices have already argued that we are in a new era for the industry with “AI PCs.” The companies argue that artificial intelligence software is more secure and responsive when run on the computers themselves rather than over the internet. Nvidia now claims that its new graphics chips are the best engines for these new kinds of desktops and laptops.

The new Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU will feature more graphics processing cores and faster memory. It can run the Stable Diffusion XL rendering software 1.7 times faster than the previous generation of Nvidia's technology. The new GPU will also run ray -traced games at 4K resolution.
Nvidia's new GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER GPU is scheduled to go on sale on January 31st for $999 on the official website . The company also introduced an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER for $799 and an RTX 4070 Super for $599 , which will be available later this month.
Combined with new software and AI-focused GPU model optimizations that Nvidia is also releasing, the GPUs will offer an “order of magnitude” improvement over engines powered by Intel processors, according to Justin Walker, Nvidia’s vice president.
After a sales boom during the pandemic, computer shipments have plummeted, leaving manufacturers and component suppliers with excess inventory and little growth. Nvidia avoided the worst of the PC slump by selling off the market for accelerator chips used to build AI software in data centers. The explosion in demand for this more expensive type of chip helped Nvidia’s market value surpass $1 trillion last year, making it the most valuable company in the history of the semiconductor industry.

For processor makers in general, however, the majority of their volume still goes to PCs. They are looking for ways to convince laptop and corporate buyers to upgrade their equipment and have started touting the capabilities of artificial intelligence as a reason for new purchases.
Nvidia said the new chips will deliver more realistic games with high-definition visuals enhanced by artificial intelligence, which will also produce improved dialogue from in-game characters. As another example, the products will provide more efficient tools for image-editing software from companies like Adobe. There are currently 500 applications that are tuned to work better with Nvidia’s artificial intelligence and RTX technology, according to the company.
Nvidia is the largest GPU manufacturer
Gamers are willing to pay thousands of dollars for graphics cards that enhance their experience, making the company's processors a premium addition to their PCs. Nvidia's main competitor in this market is AMD. Both Intel and AMD also offer CPUs that have graphics capabilities.
Separately, Nvidia said the capabilities of its new products would not trigger rules the United States government has put in place to restrict the export of artificial intelligence-related chips to China. Nvidia's top-of-the-line GTX 4090 GPU has already violated those restrictions, forcing Nvidia to produce a less powerful version for that market.
