Instagram is working on a new feature that will allow users to hide posts and reels they have liked.

Instagram is currently testing a new feature that has the potential to bring joy to many people. It has been spotted in the beta version of the app. Screenshots of this new feature were shared on X, confirming that it is already live for some beta testers, 91Mobiles reports.
To access this feature, go to the settings menu on your profile. You will find this option in the “Settings and privacy”, specifically under “Posts you have liked”.
You will be given the opportunity to choose the audience that can or cannot see the posts and reels you have liked on Instagram.
The available options include the default setting where everyone can see your likes, only people you follow, close friends, or no one. So, you have the freedom to choose from the list of options, and as a result, your likes will appear on Instagram accordingly. If you prefer to keep your Instagram activity private, this feature can be extremely useful.

You will continue to have access to previews and new likes on posts and reels you have liked. The owners of the accounts whose posts and reels you have liked will also be able to see them.
However, it remains uncertain how this will affect the number of likes and views for other accounts. Hiding likes from everyone could potentially affect the number of likes for accounts whose posts and reels you have liked.
Instagram offers the ability to hide the number of likes on your posts or reels, however, it still displays the names of those who have liked them. Therefore, with the introduction of this new privacy feature, some aspects may undergo changes. We anticipate that Instagram will provide additional information once the feature becomes available in the stable version.
