Mixin Network, an open-source, peer-to-peer trading network for digital assets, announced today via Twitter that deposits and withdrawals are suspended starting today, due to a $200 million hack the platform suffered on Saturday.

The incident occurred on September 23 in the early morning, Hong Kong time, and the attack appears to have targeted the database of cloud service provider Mixin.
Due to the significant amount lost in the hack, the situation has seriously troubled the platform's users.

Mixin stated that they will take action to address the problems caused by the loss of assets, but any solutions will be announced later.
Mixin founder Feng Xiaodong will provide further explanation regarding the incident through a public speech scheduled for later today.

Blockchain detectors such as PeckShield and Lookonchain have identified approximately $141 million in stolen assets, which were broken down as $93.5 million in ETH, $23.5 million in DAI (exchanged for USDT), and $23.3 million in BTC.
This makes the Mixin incident one of the most significant crypto-thefts of the year and creates immediate suspicion that the Lazarus is responsible for the attack.
North Korean hackers, who specialize in cryptocurrency heists, have been accused of stealing a total of $240 million worth of cryptocurrencies this year, following breaches of Atomic Wallet, Alphapo, Stake.com, and CoinsPaid.
Of course, so far we don't know for sure who carried out the attack and whether the Lazarus hacking group was ultimately involved
