Another day has passed and Hinds County offices remain closed until further notice due to a ransomware attack on their computer system.

Real estate agents and lawyers say the process of buying and selling real estate in Hinds County is at an impasse until further notice.
Your ability to buy or sell a home in Hinds County just got a lot harder – after hackers broke into the county’s computer system nearly a week ago.
"If you want this house, you're going to have to wait. And if you want to sell this house, you're just going to have to wait," Tolar Purvis explained.

Tolar Purvis, an attorney with the Purvis firm, says his office currently has 22 housing cases that remain on hold with dozens more expected to be added to the pile in the coming days due to a lack of access to county records.
Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid the delay.
Hinds County Administrator Kenny Wayne Jones says the county is receiving daily guidance from the federal government on how to proceed with the attack. He says there is no timeline for when the crypto virus will be removed.
