Thousands of eBay users worldwide have encountered significant problems while using the online store's website.

On Wednesday, according to DownDetector, about 3,000 customers in the UK and 2,000 in the US experienced problems with the website and slow loading times.
Responding to a customer on Twitter, an eBay representative said: “Thanks for bringing this to our attention! Others are reporting the same issue with searches and we have reached out to IT. Thank you for your patience while we resolve this.”

However, at around 2pm GMT (10am EST), as the problems were resolved, the number of reports made for the UK and US dropped to fewer than 700.

In a statement to the Sun, an eBay spokesperson said: “We are aware of an issue that impacted some users’ ability to complete the checkout process and we apologize for the inconvenience. Most functionality has now been restored and our team continues to actively work on this issue.”
