While this feature wasn't announced for iOS 16, Apple had previously said it would be available in 2022. Unfortunately, that timeline has passed and the feature is no longer available. In 2021, Apple acquired streaming Primephonic and quickly removed it from the App Store, integrating its content into its own Music app.

Web push notifications

While Safari web notifications have been readily available on Macs for several years now, support has yet to be added to iPhones and iPads. Jen Simmons , an Apple Evangelist on the company’s Web Developer Experience team , teased the feature in a post on Mastodon. Apple has announced that support for web notifications on iPhone and iPadOS will arrive in 2023. So far, iOS 16 betas have yet to include the feature.

New Home architecture

In October, Apple introduced iOS 16.2 with an advanced opt-in architecture for HomeKit to improve the performance and reliability of your home accessories. As it turned out, the reality was very different from what was expected – instead of improving the user experience, the new architecture had a seriously detrimental impact on many who chose to use it.
