When Tesla started the electric vehicle business, the industry was in its early stages and quickly realized that it couldn’t rely on outside companies to develop the infrastructure and support electric vehicles to succeed. Instead , Elon Musk invested in building his own fast-charging network, the Supercharger network, so that he could control the charging experience and not have to rely on other companies to keep up with his EV ( electric vehicle ) plans . Today, almost 10 years since the Supercharger network was first introduced, it is arguably both the largest and best charging network in the world. You will find Superchargers in more than 4,000 locations, 5 of which are in Greece , and soon we will have a 6th . The goal regarding the network is to join another 10,000 chargers by the end of the year. In addition to developing more stations, Tesla's plans include making other important changes . One of which is that it is slowly opening the charging network for non-Tesla vehicles, and with this process, it will be the largest EV charging provider in a broader context. It has already started opening hundreds of stations in Europe and is followed by North America. Based on this reasoning, it hopes to become the standard for building Superchargers in North America. Let us also mention that Tesla has already started work to build the 4thgeneration a Superchargers. They are expected to have better charging rate and be more friendly to non-Tesla cars. At the pace that Elon Musk has accustomed us to, it won't be long before his plan is completed. Information source: electrek.co
