Microsoft has released cumulative preview update KB5018496 to fix a TLS handshake failure issue for both client and server platforms .

This month's Patch Tuesday Windows security updates caused an issue, which has already been fixed for systems running Windows 11 22H2.
If you're using Windows 11 and are having trouble connecting to servers, you may see SEC_E_ILLEGAL_MESSAGE in apps .
As Microsoft stated, “We have addressed an issue that may cause some Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) connections to fail during the handshake process.”
Unlike other updates, KB5018496 is optional and only installed if you choose to install it. This update does not include security fixes.
To install it on device , go to Settings > Windows Update and tap Check for Updates , then select the optional preview to download and install.

In addition to out-of-band releases, Microsoft has also released standalone packages and cumulative updates for older versions of Windows.

You cannot install these updates through Windows Update, Windows Update for Business, or Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

To install the updates, first download them from the Microsoft Update Catalog. After downloading them, import them into WSUS and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
