Microsoft has released the Windows 11 22H2 KB5018427 cumulative update, bringing along security updates and thirty improvements and bug.

KB5018427 is a mandatory cumulative update that contains the October 2022 Patch Tuesday security updates to fix vulnerabilities that were previously disclosed.

Windows 11 users can install the new update by following a few simple steps.
- Click on “Start”
- Go to “Settings”
- Select “Windows Update”
- Click on “Check for Updates”

Windows 11 22H2 KB5018427: What's new in the new version?
After installing the new update, Windows 11 will change its build number to 22621.674.
As we said above, Windows 11 update KB5018427 includes around 30 improvements and fixes.

You can see the most important of them here:
- Fixes a bug that prevents Microsoft Store updates from installing .
- Resolves an issue affecting the Chinese character font.
- Fixes an issue that caused IE Mode tabs to reload in a session when using Microsoft Edge.
- Adds more dynamic Widgets content to the taskbar with notification badging. If you open the Widgets panel while a badge is displayed on the taskbar, a banner appears at the top of the panel. It provides more information about what triggered the notification badge.
- Resolves an issue affecting dual SIM calls .
- Addresses an issue that affects some apps that are not signed by the Microsoft Store. You must reinstall them after upgrading the operating system.

These improvements were also present in the KB5017389 preview update released in September.
Unfortunately, two known issues are still not resolved by the Windows 11 update KB5018427. These issues are slow copy file over SMB and provisioning packages that may not work as expected.
