Twitter has accused Elon Musk of hiding secret messages he sent late at night to business mogul Larry Ellison before a deal to buy the social media platform fell through.

The Tesla titan and the Oracle co-founder exchanged messages “very late at night” before announcing he would put the $44 billion purchase “temporarily on hold,” a court filing reportedly shows.

A court filing on Twitter from September 16th says Musk's phone records show he exchanged messages with Ellison on May 12th and until 12:20 a.m. on May 13th, according to Insider.
That was just four hours before Mr. Musk tweeted that the deal would not move forward until he received more information about fake and bot accounts.
Musk then sent a letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 8, notifying them that he was withdrawing from the market.
Twitter argued in Delaware District Court on September 16 that Musk's lawyers have not provided the messages - after the company was called upon to do so.
The Oracle pledged $1 billion to back Musk's Twitter bid – Musk and Ellison are longtime friends.

Twitter and Mr. Musk will go to trial in Delaware on Oct. 17 to try to resolve the billionaire's attempt to void his purchase, which has been approved by Twitter's board and the company 's shareholders .
All depositions for the case must be completed by September 29th.
