Social media platforms like Reddit, TikTok , and Twitterhave been flooded with comments from thousands of frustrated iPhone users, all of whom say their iPhone battery life has been significantly affected since installing iOS 16.
A Reddit user commented that even though he hasn't changed anything in the way he uses his iPhone and even though he doesn't use it at all for many hours due to work, the battery is draining quickly.
Another user wrote: “The battery on my 13 pro max is draining like crazy…. I know it takes a few days for the phone to be back to normal, but it’s been almost a week already. I’m thinking of going back to 15.7, but I might need some opinions first.”

And of course, there are also many conspiracy theories circulating about intentionally reducing battery life in older iPhones to increase sales of the newer iPhone 14.
Apple has not commented on the ongoing impact of iOS 16 on iPhone battery life. The company released iOS 16.0.2 to the public with no mention of improvements to the issue. iOS 16.1 is also in beta testing.
